BetterService connects customers with service providers for on-location work — from home repairs and maintenance to professional services like healthcare and beauty. The platform handles discovery, booking, real-time tracking, and secure payments.

Part of the BetterSuite ecosystem, BetterService shares the same robust backend infrastructure, admin panel, and design system as its sibling products.

Industry:

Home Services / Professional Services / On-Demand

Timeline:

Continuous Development & Enhancement

Tech Stack:

Rust, PostgreSQL, Redis, ClickHouse, Flutter

Challenge:

We envisioned a platform where getting any service to your location is as easy as ordering a ride. Whether you need a plumber, an electrician, a home nurse, or a hair stylist — the experience should be consistent, transparent, and reliable. Our goal was to build infrastructure flexible enough to power any service vertical while maintaining the quality and trust users expect.

Approach

BetterService uses a configurable service catalog that operators can customize for their specific verticals. The same platform can power a home repair marketplace, a healthcare-at-home service, or a beauty-on-demand app. Real-time provider tracking, transparent pricing, and verified reviews create trust between customers and service providers.

Design Direction

The interface adapts to service context — urgent repairs show estimated arrival times prominently, while scheduled appointments emphasize calendar integration and reminders. Provider profiles highlight credentials, certifications, and customer reviews, building confidence before booking.

“The right professional, at your door, exactly when you need them — that's the BetterService promise.”

Development & Technology

  • Backend: Shared BetterSuite Rust infrastructure (modular monolith, 25 domains)
  • Databases: PostgreSQL (bookings, providers), Redis (availability, real-time), ClickHouse (service analytics)
  • Mobile: Cross-platform (Flutter)
  • Features: Provider verification, real-time tracking, in-app communication, secure payments
  • SDKs: Dart, Swift, Kotlin, TypeScript for custom implementations

The modular service catalog allows operators to launch with a single vertical (e.g., plumbing) and expand to additional services without backend changes. Provider onboarding, verification, and payout systems are built-in and configurable.
